Hot Jods has arrived!  Fresh from the manufacturer and ready to fly off the shelves.

Our mission is to provide the best jodhpurs on the market that are unmatched in quality and fashion.
Any if we get to meet a lot of great people who love to talk horses, that would make it complete.

Hot Jods was conceived on May 15th, 2009 by two horse lovers.  We are active riders and love going
to horse events all over the country.  In fact, we have been doing so for over 30 years.  Our families
are also involved in showing and riding.  Our own need for riding pants caused us to actively search
for a resolution.  We were tired of uncomfortable jodhpurs that seemed to always tear.  Our fellow
barn friends also complained that they were always in need of good riding pants.  Our solution was
to combine quality, durability, and comfort with an overall look that anyone would be happy showing
off whether riding or walking around.

Why Hot Jods?  We know riding pants.  We know what works and what doesn't.  We are also
extremely picky!  We personally check our product and work closely with the manufacturer.  We
aren't happy unless you are.

Proudly made in the U.S.A.
About Us
What Do You Ride In?

What a rush!  The weather is great.  Not a cloud in the sky.  The horses are fresh and loving the open trails.
You are out with your horse buddies and enjoying the company of fellow horse lovers as well as your
favorite four-legged equine friend.  What more could you ask for?  The ride comes to an end and the
painful reality begins.  You now have saddle sores from where your pants were rubbing.

You have the very best tack.  Check.  You have the horse impeccably groomed.  Check.  You even have the
proper gloves and shades.  Check.  So why wouldn’t you wear the proper riding pants?  You know how
painful saddle sores are and you know that they can often leave ugly scars as a reminder.

You have choices.  There are several options on the market today that will make your riding experience
even more enjoyable.  When your regular jeans and sweats just aren’t cutting it, look to jodhpurs or
breeches.  These tend to fit very similar to regular pants with a few exceptions.

Jodhpurs or “Jods” are meant to be paired with a paddock or “jod” boot (lower profile) and fit over the
boot or shoe.  They have a slightly flaired bottom or in pant terminology they are “boot cut.”  Most
jodhpurs have jod straps that fit under the boot and hold the pant leg down.  This is important so that the
pants do not rise up while riding thus causing chaffing and sores.  The biggest reason why jodhpurs work
for riding versus regular pants is the lack of inside seam.  If you look at your every day pants or jeans you
will notice that there is a prominent seam running lengthwise along the inside of the pant legs.  After being
in the saddle for a while this seam can cut into your leg and cause some pretty painful sores.  The jodhpur
design minimizes this seam by placing a patch material on the inside of the leg.  This knee patch material
can either be the same material as the pant or can even be a suede or suede-like material that gives you
even more grip while riding.  Jodhpurs can be found with inside knee-patches or full-seat (inside knee
patch material taken up through the seat) for extra security while riding.

A lot of people enjoy the look of jodhpurs and find them flattering on most figures.  They also like the fact
that they look very similar to regular pants so that you can wear them almost anywhere.  They also tend to
be very comfortable on.  Jodhpurs can be found in many different materials such as denim, twill, corduroy,
polar fleece, etc.  Really anything in durable stretch material will work.

Breeches can either be paired with a paddock boot or a taller boot.  They are essentially “straight leg”
where the boots will fit over the pants.  They may have straps similar to jod straps that hold the pant down.
Some breeches come with inside knee patches or full seat just like jodhpurs.  Some even use chaps or half-
chaps with their breeches (or jodhpurs) for additional grip while riding.  The main advantage to breeches
over regular pants is to minimize the inside seam and minimize any discomfort while riding.
Breeches tend to fit a little snugger and hug the body since they are intended to fit underneath a boot.
There are several fabric options found in breeches.  Whether your preference is denim, knit stretch, cotton,
or tights, you can bet you will be comfortable while riding.

Don’t forget that although comfort and security is our main priority while riding, we should also look good.
Gone are the days of the polyester, stuffy, high-waisted riding pants.  While I am sure you can still find
these somewhere, most apparel companies have opted for current trends like mid-rise or low-rise,
washable and breathable fabrics, as well as colorful options.  It is okay to be fashionable while riding.  Your
horse will thank you!
